THE DISTRICT 7 EDUCATION FUND
The Education Fund is a portion of District 7’s budget which covers the costs of everything needed and used inside the school. This fund is largest portion of the District’s budget and pays for our teachers, technology, textbooks, support staff, nurses, security staff, special education, career & technical education, interscholastic programs, fine arts programs, remedial and supplemental programs, gifted programs, summer school programs, curriculum, paper, supplies, equipment, furnishings, and much more.
The District cannot move money from one fund to another, meaning proposals like sales taxes for building needs won’t bring relief in the areas of greatest student need. You can view District 7’s budget by clicking here.
COMPARING 1977 to 2017
The Education Fund has had to grow to cover District 7’s needs since it was last assisted with a referendum in 1977. The last 40 years have realized increases in all of the areas the Education Fund covers, as shown in the examples below.
